SAMMING  

This is a mechanical process of removing excess water from the wet-blue before it under goes further processing by squeezing out 60% water.

SPLITTING

Splitting is the cutting of the wet-blue into two layers according to specifications in the thickness. The upper part goes further processing and the by product is called split.

SHAVING  

The shaving uniforms the thickness of leather.

VACUUM DRYING

The leather goes through the vacuum drying for flattering and stretching.

BUFFING  

Buffing improves the gain surface as a result of thorns, bumdy wires and skin defects.

LIMING AND TANNING DRUMS

The tannery has four big drums with the capacity of 12,000kg per drum for liming and tanning. In the picture, the pelts are off loaded to under go further mechanical treatment called defleshing after Liming and reloaded for Tanning. The purpose of Tanning, i.e. converting pelts into leather, is
bulletstabilize it against enzymatic degrading and increase its resistance to chemicals.
bulletraise its shrinking temperature and increase its resistance to hot water.

bulletreduce its shrinkage in volume, area and thickness,

These result are obtained by cross-linking the collagen chains with various tanning agents.
