ABOUT THE LUSAKA METROPOLITAN FIBER NETWORK 

The Lusaka Metropolitan Optic Fiber Network is a connection of strategic access points called nodes using high capacity Optic Fiber Technology to meet service requirements for business, non government and residential customers. The connections are in a mesh formation to provide the much needed alternative routing of traffic providing resilience on the network in case of a fault on any one link. The superhighway is providing future-proof network for any new business platforms that business houses are craving for. The network has the capability of carrying voice services, data services, Fast Ethernet (FE), Gigabit Ethernet (GE), broadband Internet, Video and Multimedia Services such as Television on dedicated data circuits. 

 

SERVICE ACCESS POINTS 

 

The Lusaka Metropolitan Optic Fibre Network interconnects 20 nodes at 10Gbps speed with over 80km of fibre cable spanning across the city. The network covers mainly the business areas of Lusaka. The central business area is well covered with a number of nodes reducing the installation costs for our business customers. Service can therefore, be provided immediately to customers working or living near the access points on the network after a survey is conducted.
